Intrepid scientists and lovers Katia and Maurice Krafft died in a volcanic explosion doing the very thing that brought them together: unraveling the mysteries of volcanoes by capturing the most explosive imagery ever recorded.

A great documentary that shows the passion of a pair of vulcanologists for their study object and their love. The footage is amazing, and the two protagonists are very funny and interesting.

Absolutely deserved their Oscar nomination!

What was The Flicks?

The legendary Flicks Community Movie Houses were the most comfortable little movie theaters in Phnom Penh, from June 2009 to August 2021, showcasing the blockbusters, documentaries, foreign films and international film festival winners on the big screens in a fully air-conditioned movie rooms that seated 32 people.

Our movie rooms (one at each location) were fully air conditioned and our lobbies had a bar which provided you with cold drinks, various food options, snacks and The Best Popcorn in Town. Welcome home! More?
