A taunt thriller about 50 year old events that is still incredibly relevant and prescient, particularly for how live news is handled and what journalistic responsibility means. The editing and production design are sublime. One of the year’s best!

Capturing the compromises, dedication, and human fallibility of the newsroom, September 5 is a worthy chronicle of a tragic flashpoint in broadcast media history.

What was The Flicks?

The legendary Flicks Community Movie Houses were the most comfortable little movie theaters in Phnom Penh, from June 2009 to August 2021, showcasing the blockbusters, documentaries, foreign films and international film festival winners on the big screens in a fully air-conditioned movie rooms that seated 32 people.
